14-year-old Alia Anin Azwa Bakri (ELO 1925) of Malacca emerged as the overall champion and bagged two gold medals for the chess Open category which took place May 28th-1st June at the Commonwealth Hall, National Sport Complex in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

Final Round 9 Standings: 1-10. Alia Anin Azwa Bakri (Mal) 8.5; NWM Nurul Huda Wahidduddin (Pah), Chin Yuen Sue (Pg) 7.5; Amira Syahmina Zullkafli (Sel), Fong Mi Yen (KL), NWM Khairunnisa’ Wahidduddin (Pah), Loi Choi Suien (UM), Anis Azirah Mohd Yazid (NS), Khairunnisa Izzati Othman (UPM), Latifah Kaisyah Latif; 157 players.
