HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
- I. START TO PLAY CHESS – INTENSIVE PROGRAM
This program teaches a child the rules of the game and to start playing with confidence – the ultimate objective being to get him or her to play logically.

II. 3-DAY CHESS CAMP for Elementary and Intermediate level players
- Day 1: 20 Aug, 10.00am – 5.00pm – Mastering the Art of Checkmating
- Day 2: 21 Aug, 10.00am – 5.00pm – Basic Tactical & Endgame Training
- Day 3: 22 Aug, 10.00am – 5.00pm – Opening: Playing it to Win!
- Fee: RM200 (incl. lunch & snack during breaks)
- No. of Places: 20 students only
III. ‘LEARN THE BASICS OF CHESS OPENING!’ WORKSHOP
- A supplementary chess course to improve tournament play. This course offers an opportunity to strengthen players’ understanding of the first stage of the game. The lessons will help reduce losses due to the general lack of understanding of chess openings in tournament games. Recommended for Elementary level players and above.
- Topics covered:
- a. Principles of Openings d. Ruy Lopez
- b. King’s Gambit e. Two Knights Defence
- c. Queen’s Gambit f. French Defence
- Date/Time: 23 – 24 Aug (2 days), 10.00am – 1.00pm
- Fee: RM150
- No. of Places: 20 students only
- IV. THEORY & PRACTICE SESSION for Beginners, Elementary & Intermediate Students
- A supplementary chess course to improve students’ understanding of theories through practical reinforcement. As most students learn and improve through tournament play, this session is designed to allow more time for practical play and puzzle-solving. Students will also be given useful tips and tricks throughout the 2-day session.
- Students who are currently taking the scholastic program and those in the beginners up to intermediate course are encouraged to attend. This course is proven to be effective in improving their games.
- Date/Time: 23 – 24 Aug (2 days), 2.00-5.00pm
- Fee: RM60
- No. of Places: 20 students only
