2007 Sarawak Open Chess Championship from 29 Dec 2007 2:00 pm till 1
Jan 2008 2:00 pm at Premier Hotel, Sibu, Sarawak. Total prize fund
RM5,500 with Champion RM1,500 Runner-up RM1,000 2nd Runner up RM400 and
so on. Prizes also ready for U18, U15, U12 and ladies. Entrance fee:
RM20 Youth and lady: RM10.
The event will be FIDE rated and National rated with some adjustment in time control.
Airasia do fly direct to Sibu from KL and Johor. Anyone who prefers to
fly to Kuching or Miri may take air-conditioned coaches from Kuching or
Miri. Kuching-Sibu or Miri-Sibu journey is around 420 km or 6.5 hours.
Frequency of buses is 1.5 hours on average. One-way fare: RM30 and
two-way fare: RM40. Bus station telephones(Kuching: 082-453190 Sibu
