Prizes: Total prize fund worth RM 1,600 with Cat 1 1st prize = RM 300.

Reg fee for Cat 1: CAS Member>> RM 15, Others>> RM 25;
Reg fee for Cat 2: CAS Member>> RM 10, Others>> RM 20;
Registration with payment: Before 9.00 AM, Round 1 at 9.30 am.
Pre-Registration via email after deadline (7th DEC 2007) will
incured a late admin. fee of extra RM 5. For pre-registration, please
email your name and category to selangorchess@gmail.com by 7th DEC.

How is the prizes in category 2 of CAS Fourth Quarter Allegro Chess Championship exspecially champion?

For Category 2 (National rating below 1400), 10 main prizes + 3 consolation prizes will be given away at the of the event.
All 10 main prizes are comprized of selective “very good for chess improvement” chess books that are sourced either from local bookstores or internationally. 1st prize = Chess book that is purchased at around RM 110; 2nd prize @ RM 90 chess book, 3rd @ RM 80 chess book and so on.
The intention is to encourage chess players improve their skills which ultimately improve on their chess rating and able to join the Category 1 very soon. Many Category 2 prizewinners in the past few years already playing in Category 1 today.
