Rules and Regulations

1. This tournament will be based on the FIDE 7 Round Swiss System.
2. The number of participants is cap at a maximum 120 players.
3. Age is taken as of 1st of January 2008.
4. Each game will have a time control of 45 minutes per side.
5. A case of walk over will be granted if a player did not turn up for 30 minutes. In the eventuality that both players are absent, both will lose the game.
6. Players that are absent without a valid reason will be removed in the next round.
7. Players are not obliged to record their moves. However, doing so is highly encouraged.
8. The arbiter’s decision is final. However, participants may issue complain in not more than 15 minutes of the subjected game. A processing fee of RM 50 will be charged. This fee will not be returned if the complain fails.
9. The organizing committee reserves the right to make amendments or any changes to the rules and regulation if the need arises.
10. To register, send an email to mmu.chessclub@gmail.com and cc it to gohsuwang@yahoo.com/cenadius@hotmail.com. State your name, identity card no, contact number, and institution (or group name). If you are a rated player please do state your ratings as well.
11. Payment can be done on the spot, latest by 12pm on the 26th of April 2008. (1 hour before round 1).
