Why is the entrance fee for others >> RM 110 ? It’s too expensive… this discourages other people from participating in this tournament !!!!!!
I planned to join the event, but the entrance fee too disatisfying !!!

Yeah, prize money increase attract strong players so we have less chance to win laa. but got fide rating and long time control..
RajaCatur | Apr 10, 2008 | Reply
Read somewhere the event is only partly sponsored. So selangorchess shouldn’t even bother to organise it, by not organizing it they won’t lose money, and players also don’t have to lose money. Tadaa.. a win-win situation, everybody happy

CAS should take ‘chess improvement plan especially kids even youngsters’ into consideration, instead of planning with high cash prizes, then imposed high entrance fee to all players. If the second liner players are “unsafe”, will youngsters taking part?
Only “well-known” players are safe and take the money home. We have many talented junior players but……….. disappeared! This is not the right place or time to get ONLY exposure!!! So, what ?
If ‘they’ need us more, they will work for us.
If we need they more, we will work for them.
BETTER, they work for us!!!
Good lesson to CAS!

Dear TMZ,
Please do not pass irresponsible comments when you did not get your fact right or simply never bother to do your research on the chess development in Klang Valley in the past 12 years.
CAS provides the platform for juniors and youngsters development in the past 12 years.
Most of the top national players in Men and Women team today went through CAS platform.
Today, some “new” organisers are boasting how their activities and organisation have helped to nuture the players toi be good. These organisers are not even in the chess scene when the good players today are merely a starter 5 years ago. It is CAS platform together with a pool of experienced / high-performance Coaches that have helped these youngster players to excel to where they are now.

By the way, today talented juniors will remain just as “junior with some talent but ……” in next few years if they do not take the opportunity right now to join stronger events like Selangor Open, National Closed, Malaysia Open and etc.

The main objective on why CAS continues conducting the Selangor Open in classical time is to give people who really loves chess to enjoy their game. This is a great service to the community alone.
Can anybody name me any organiser in Malaysia that can do this for 35 years? Well, MCF (national body) is the next best that I can think off.
CAS at the same time have to workout the breakeven in financial aspect as well.
Recently, I read somewhere on a posting that query whether is there any chess association in Malaysia that does thing professionally.
Well, CAS is proud to claim that CAS always does thing professionally for the past 20 years at the very least.
