Selangor Open 2008 results

Won this event ten years ago.
Had to give up one game in round 6 because he had to attend a wedding.

Even with that one loss he finished clear first.

This result also brings Lim Yee Weng closer to getting his IM title as he only needs 51 more ELO points (the result of RSO will definitely raise his ELO closer to his target).

One of the favourites leading the tournament with Yee Weng but was held to a draw in the final round by NM Kamal Ariffin.

He beat another pre-tournament favourite Ian Udani.

Rarely heard of the past year because of his medical studies in Melaka and India. One of the few players that consistently win almost every local tournament he enters.

Only loss was to Lim Yee Weng but his excellent wins over his other opponents brought him to 3rd place.

Another talented player from Johor who has done remarkably well in local tournaments. He led and almost won last year’s AmBank challenge but a last round loss which robbed him of first place.

Past National Master from the east coast. Only one loss in 9 rounds to Jamal Hendry of Indonesia.

Started slow at the start and suffered two losses to Kamal Abdullah and WIM

Tamin Upi Darmayana but caught at the end by winning many games in a row.

Suffered only one loss to

Lindiawati Evi of Indonesia.

Untitled Indonesian (ELO 2185) who suffered his sole loss  at the hands of Lim Yee Weng in round 7.

Certified chess coach from Penang with the title Developmental Insructor (DI) from Penang.

Played against 5 titled players: 3 NMs, 1 FM and 1 WNM.
