RSC Rapid 2008 and KL Open Simul results
This is the 2nd time I’m posting an informal results using audio.
I called up Jax Tham to find out the results of the RSC Rapid 2008 today (28/12/2008) and he happened to have the results in front of him.
Also as a bonus MCF Gregory Lau was with Jax and he gave me the KL Open simul results where IM Aaron Manual.

P/S: This is only the second time this is done on GilaChess.com. The first time the results was read by Leong Mun Wan (Segambut Open champ) over a year ago.
Chess Countdown 2009 Blitz at OUG
Venue:Excel chess academy 26A Jln Hujan Emas 4, OUG, KL.
Date: 31st December 2008
Come before 8.30pm. (The centre is open from 5pm onwards)
Entrance fee : RM 18
Contact Jax Tham (013-332280)to pre-register or be there at the centre in OUG after 5pm. The games will start at 8.30pm. .
If you are taking the bus, take KL Rapid bus no. 73 from Klang Bus Stand (Pasar Seni).

RSC Open Chess Tournament (2008 year end celebration)

Venue: Royal Selangor Club, Bukit Kiara
Time: 9 am registration
10 am to 5 pm ( 6 rounds rapid)
Entry fee: RM 15 + lunch
FM Mok Tze Meng wins Terengganu Open
FM Mok Tze Meng won the Terengganu Open (Pencarian Jaguh Catur Terengganu) with a score of 8/9. He won all his games except for two draws vs IM Mas Hafizulhelmi and Zarul Shazwan (in the final round).
Clear second was IM Mas Hafizulhelmi who recovered from a lost game due to time forfeit. Mas finished with 7.5/8 just half a point behind Mok.
Ian Udani and Abdullah Che Hassan was third and fourth respectively with 7 points each.
From 5th to 10th place are: Zarul Shazwan, Kamal Abdullah, Ismail Ahmad, Kamaluddin Yusof, Fairul Yusof and Norazman Ismail.
