The Malaysian Chess Federation will organize the 29th ASTRO Merdeka Rapid Open Team Chess Championship 2009
in the Ballroom, CitiTel Midvalley Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as per the schedule below.
The time control is 25 mins + 10 seconds increment from move 1.
A team will consist of 4 or 4 + 1 (reserve) players.
The Championship will be managed and run by DAT Chess Centre, the Event Manager for this event.
DUE TO SPACE CONSTRAINTS ONLY THE FIRST 50 PAID TEAMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Conditions for participation for both the events:
The average rating of the players in a team should not exceed 2250 during play.
Example: Player A: 2500 – Player B: 2300 – Player C: 2200 – Player D: 2000 = 9000 ÷ 4 = 2250
Unrated players will be considered as 1800 for calculation purposes.
CLOSING DATE: 25 AUGUST 2009 BY 10:00 AM. ENTRIES AFTER THIS WILL BE SURCHARGED RM 100. CHANGE OF BOARD ORDER, CHANGE OF NAMES ETC. WILL ALSO BE SURCHARGED RM 20 PER CHANGE.
