19 players participated in the 1st Russian Embassy Chess Open on Sunday, the 17th of June 2007. Participation was by invitation only.

The event was held at the Russian Cultural Centre along Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur,

The invited participants were Tham Tick Hong (MAS), IM Jimmy Liew/NM Tony Tay (MAS) , Dr Wahid Karim (MAS), NM Yeoh Chin Seng (MAS), Gregory Lau (MAS) , Steve Retallick (AUS), Ng Ek Teong (MAS) , Bernard Ng (MAS) , Zinyaddin Akiyev (AZE), Cornelius Bong (MAS), Seto Kwai Mun (MAS), Leo Belov (RUS) , Chan Mun Fye (MAS) , Anthony Tan (MAS) , John Law (MAS) , Sergey Drobyshevsky (RUS) , Andrey Stephanov (RUS), Nikolay Savenko (RUS).

Here are the results for the Under 18 category of the Klang Parade tournament held on 23rd June 2007 (Saturday). Abel Yap was the champion for this category.

Here are the results for the Klang Parade Open held on 24th June 2007 (Sunday). Fariz Shafruddin emerged champion with 4.5 points.

This Persatuan Catur Prestij Perlis’ open event took place May 26th, 2007 in Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Indra, Perlis.

14-year-old Alia Anin Azwa Bakri (ELO 1925) of Malacca emerged as the overall champion and bagged two gold medals for the chess Open category which took place May 28th-1st June at the Commonwealth Hall, National Sport Complex in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
